Simon Says Stamp Red White and Blue Challenge

So the latest Monday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp is to use red, white and/or blue on a project. Well, it just so happens that I have a friend whose birthday is in early July, so the patriotic color scheme was a given. For the stamp, I used the recently acquired Concord and 9th Flower Turnabout and here's the results:

If you want a tutorial on how to use the Turnabout stamps, check out the tips video on the Concord & 9th site or Jennifer McGuire's process video.

For my card, I tried a couple of color schemes before I landed on this one. Side 1 was stamped with the light blue, sides 2 and 4 were stamped with red and side 3 was stamped with dark blue. I wanted to add a little sparkle so I used silver embossing powder for the leaves. (I had tried embossing one set of flowers but felt that it competed with the other strong colors on the card.)

Overall, I really loved this stamp and found it a little easier to work with than the Triangle Turnabout. I saw a sneak peak of the next one (rays) and can't wait to get that one too!

Thanks for stopping by today!
